Open End Blind Rivets

An Open-End Blind Rivet, also known as a Break Stem Rivet, is a type of blind rivet with an open, domed head. Unlike other blind rivets with closed or sealed heads, open-end blind rivets have an opening at the top of the head. They are designed to create a secure fastening while accommodating variations in the thickness of the materials being joined. Key characteristics of open-end blind rivets include: Open Head: The open, domed head of these rivets allows for the mandrel (the central rod-like component) to break off cleanly during installation, leaving a hole in the head. This design feature makes open-end blind rivets suitable for joining materials of varying thicknesses. Installation: The installation process for open-end blind rivets is similar to that of standard blind rivets. It involves drilling a hole, inserting the rivet, and using a rivet tool to pull the mandrel. As the mandrel is pulled, it deforms the rivet body and secures the materials together. The mandrel breaks off at the predetermined point, completing the installation. Open-end blind rivets are used in a wide range of applications, including construction, automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing, where they provide a reliable and efficient means of fastening materials with varying thicknesses.
